Key Responsibilities

General Management

  • Actively engage in setting up department business plan
  • Key customer relationship holding
  • Monitor, control and drive improvement to position the department to deliver the required results in the business plan
  • Enhance competence across the Warehousing and distribution organization
  • Be an active part of the Country Management Team


  • Ensure achievement / over-achievement of Vietnam WND profitability targets
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly report and review FYE as needed
  • Closely monitor volume, revenue, and profitability developments for clients, and take corrective actions if falling short of forecast.
  • Take lead in initiatives to reducing operating cost and increase profitability by a minimum of agreed target percentage annually


  • Ensure high quality warehousing and distribution activities meeting Damco and International Standards.
  • Ensure compliance of clients / sites operating KPI according to contract
  • Establish excellent relationship with key strategic partners and local authorities
  • Ensure high level of productivity and operating efficiency of the team and strive for cost-leadership position in all operations
  • Ensure C-TPAT compliance and safety standards of all operated facilities
  • Improve operational productivities
  • Ensure cost leadership in comparison with competition 

Business Development

  • Together with commercial team, establish short and long-range product development plan, which enables DAMCO to maintain/enhance competitive advantage and generate additional revenue through introduction of new services within scope of Contract Logistics
  • Develop and maintain the cluster’s Commercial Strategy towards WND growth / targets
  • Actively identify, pursue and convert WND New Business from targeted clients
  • Apply specialist knowledge of markets and industries to support the sales efforts to new clients, including supporting tenders and sales presentations
  • Influence and negotiate development projects with clients leveraging on relationships formed with key parties in the client organization
  • Support regional Product Managers in the execution of development solutions for clients
  • Solution Design & Execution


  • To coach, lead and motivate staff to reach personal and departmental goals
  • To minimise staff turnover to healthy levels
  • Establish career development and succession plan for key positions employees within WND
  • To ensure that all staff has up-to-date job descriptions, and a training plan that is actioned
  • To recruit new staff when necessary screening CV’s PI/LI test results and interviewing staff
  • Live, communicate, inspire and promote Damco’s Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Ensure adherence to corporate Human Resources policies and guidelines


  • Travel within country and overseas as required
  • Show Constant Care through taking timely and necessary corrective action within all areas of responsibility as required
