Job description

Taylor’s University (TU) aims to be the most preferred University in Malaysia and regionally. Central to this vision, is the strategy of leading the advancement of the University through strategic brand management of its master brand, – Taylor’s University and the 5 faculties under its banner. 


The Head of Marketing is responsible to assist VP of Group Marketing;

  • To develop school/programme positioning, pricing, market & consumer insights for effective communication to the target audience for revenue generating campaigns

  • To plan and drive lead-generation campaigns through to conversion to drive revenue

  • To plan and drive school or programme specific non lead-generation campaigns for market impact and brand engagement

  • To plan, organize and co-lead Sales Events on campus with Student Recruitment upon aligning with the Brand team on the event concept (which the Brand team will provide) and work with schools and Student Recruitment teams to launch

  • To monitor and manage the communication and relationships with prospective customers (CY, Transfer Market) via digital platforms from leads to conversion based on the defined Customer Journey

  • To lead the Merchandising Department for profit as a revenue generator and a means to better engage prospective students

  • To lead the Scholarships Department leveraging scholarships to build and strengthen the brand image of both Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College

  • To involve in the development of the business planning and marketing strategic work concerning other business entities under the Group for further growth


Job requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree with at least 12 years proven and extensive experience in product/brand marketing and advertising, including strategy development and holistic campaign executions

  • Senior management experience that includes team leadership and team development experience and the management of finances and people

  • Ability to appoint and manage the performance of marketing and media agencies aligned to the achievement of expected and agreed outcomes

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing customer lifecycle marketing strategies

  • Proven leader and strong communicator (verbal, written, interpersonal) who can address a broad spectrum of colleagues and external partners

  • Have strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • A self-directed professional who knows what needs to be done and operates with a sense of urgency, focus and discipline
